WHO Tuberculosis (TB) Awareness Day
March 24th, 2015 has been declared Tubercolosis Awareness Day by the World Health Organization. Tuberculosis (aka "TB" or "consumption") has been depicted in many movies, novels, plays, music, and other works of art. Have you seen the movie Moulin Rouge? How about Les Misérables (the movie, the musical, and the book)? And what about Puccini's opera, La Bohème? Evidence of this disease can be found far into history. It is believed that evidence of TB was found in the spinal columns of Egyptian mummies dating back to 2400BCE. That's a long time ago! On this day, WHO is calling for "global solidarity and action" to support thier proposed stragtegy for bringing an end to the spread of TB. In our effort to raise awareness, we are providing a link to the WHO page which lays out more details and information regarding thier campaign.
